Problem

An Australian Utility needed to identify low clearance network-wide. Unlike vegetation issues, which are commonly checked with Power Lines Pro, building encroachments were more difficult to rectify and required more complex, detailed design work to test possible solutions.

Solution

By combining PLP design with network analytics, the utility was able to identify clearance with greater accuracy. The Utility optimized their existing distribution network design and the subsequent model enabled them to model, view and analyze their grid with precision.

The model also allowed them to design and test proposed solutions, including assessing their changes under extreme weather and temperatures.
