Do you need a network model for RVO?

No, you do not need a network model for RVO. However, it does make your analyses much more precise.

Does RVO replace existing tooling or layer on top of it?

Either. You can use it instead of other tools to run your risk analyses, you can import external data as key inputs, or export the RVO outputs to other systems. RVO can make your existing tooling much more effective. Preprocessing data in Neara can make running analyses in other tools up to 7x faster.

What data do I need to use RVO effectively? Does it require LiDAR or can it work with existing data?

RVO works with your existing data to model all of your risk scenarios using powerful cloud processing. Adding LiDAR and a network model is optional, but recommended.

Can I customize risk thresholds, asset types, or cost assumptions?

Yes, all of the inputs to your model are completely customizable. You can also model various scenarios with different assumptions in the risk model without disturbing the underlying data.

Will it show me ROI or cost-benefit across multiple risk types?

RVO will help you figure out how various interventions impact your level of risk for any risk type you define. The platform is fully configurable. You can set it up to see the tradeoffs for any intervention or set of interventions in one screen.

How hard is it to learn or use? Do I need a data scientist?

You don’t need a data scientist, but you do want to account for a dedicated resource to keep the model up to date. Neara can help with this if required.

How long does it take to get started?

It depends. If you want to build new, complex risk models from scratch and need to fully outsource your model build, it may take a few months to get up and running. However, if you already have risk models to import, it can be set up in just weeks.

Is Neara building statistical models or asset degradation curve models for me?

While Neara can help you set up your statistical models, we are not subject matter experts in this area. We are here to help you manage and optimize your own models in the Neara platform.
